The Colton Group is a family run business with over 45 years
experience in Earthmoving and Civil Engineering. We are based in
the North East and operate from our depots in Birtley and
Tanfield.
H. F. Colton (Plant Hire) Ltd was established in 1981 and runs
from our Birtley Depot which lies close to the A1, we specialise
in Plant Hire & Heavy Haulage with a fleet of over 70 specialist
items of Earthmoving Equipment. We also operate our own haulage
division with a fleet of Low Loaders capable of carrying 53
tonnes
Colton Excavations Ltd was established in 1999 and specialises
in Civil Engineering, Land Reclamation, Land Remediation &
Restoration, Major Highway Projects, Landfill Engineering,
Design & Construction of Timber Crib Walls and Environmental
Projects including Coastal Erosion Protection.
Ken Thomas Site Clearance Ltd was acquired by the group in May
2007 but has been long established company specialising in
Demolition, Site Clearance, Waste Management, Asbestos Removal,
Resale of Aggregates and Skip Hire for over 30 Years. They are
based at our Tanfield Depot where we operate a Waste Transfer
Station and are Licensed Waste Carriers.
The Group are accredited to BSI 9002, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001 and
are also recognised as Investors in People.
